PS4 Firmware 4.00 is coming, and you can join the Beta

As is now the tradition, Sony have opened a survey for people interested in joining the Beta for their upcoming PS4 Firmware. There’s good reasons to be excited about this one because it’s a new major update, pushing the PS4 Firmware to 4.0.

There’s not much information on what features firmware 4.0 will bring, but already lots of speculation or “wish lists”. From the typical “I want backwards compatibility with the PS3” to the more down to Earth “can we have a major UI overhaul?”, the Playstation blog is overwhelmed with suggestions from Players. Clearly, people are excited about what the PS4 could bring to the table with this new update.

The Beta is scheduled to start in August, and you can register for it any time before that. Not everyone who registers will make it to the Beta though, and in my experience it seems to be a first come, first serve basis, so if you’re remotely interested you should try and join the Bata. The “survey” is extremely simple and only asks for your playstation ID and if you are willing to receive upcoming information about Playstation products and beta tests (you can answer no to that one).
