New PS4 model, the PS4 slim was spotted on an auction site. Gaming website Eurogamer has now confirmed the device is real, showing a video of the device booting.
It would make perfect sense for Sony to announce the PS4 Slim along with the PS4 Neo. Doing that, Sony should be able to appeal to hardcore gamers as well as more “casual” gamers looking for the PS4 experience at a more reasonable price.
It is likely that both devices will be officially announced in a few weeks.
Initial pictures of the device raised suspicions that it could be a clever photoshop or just some 3D-printed piece of plastic (honestly, the somewhat cheap-plastic-look of the console doesn’t help here), but journalists at Eurogamer have been able to meet in person with the person who originated the leaks, confirming that person is in possession of a PS4 slim, and showing the device booting to the main PS4 menu.
